“The day that changed everything for the Trolls still haunts them to this day.
High in the mountains they once lived happily away from civilization under their
King. They are now forced to bow down and call the Goblins their masters even
after the Goblins slayed their King. They are extremely saddened and no joy ever
reaches the face of the Trolls. They want to be free and they want to be out of
the ruling hands of the Goblins. Yet, everything remains the same and the Trolls
have started to give up hope. Nothing but a great leader could arouse their
spirits now.”
“The Trolls live high in the mountains, away from civilization. They are
incredibly stupid allowing them to make many mistakes. They are viewed as brutes
with extreme strength, but are never mentioned in the same sentence as
civilized. They were used during times war with always the highest bidder
getting their army. Throughout history the races have crossbred and romances
have sparked in the most awkward situations. Thus, was such a story between the
Goblin and Trolls when the Goblin King, Alzhaun II wed a Troll Queen. The
marriage was believed to be just a ploy to establish an alliance between the two
kingdoms. This was proved to be the fact when the couple had a child. The King
exiled the child because he could not stand killing his own flesh. After the
death of Alzhaun II in 215, his young son, Derius was enthroned. Derius was born
of Alzhaun II and his Goblin mistress. The Trolls were enraged at the prospect
of their Royal oversight. Diplomacy was tried, but when that failed all hell
broke loose and war was declared.”
“In 219, a war was declared on the Goblins by the mighty race of Trolls. This
war became to be known as the War of Ascendance. The Ascendance Wars were
actually a series of three wars fought between the years of 219-342. Deaths came
on both sides of the war and many died on the battlefields. Their eyes were
still alive, but everything else dead. Many feared the wars would go on forever,
yet there was an end which many Trolls would love to forget. The first war was
fought in 219 and the Goblins were defeated badly. Their capitol overrun and
their lay in ruins as everything was nothing but ashes. The Trolls launched
raids across the Daglian Plains, and defeated the Goblin Infantry at an epic
nine day battle known as the Battle of Cataclysm. The second war began in 221
because the Goblins were angry for losing to such an inferior race called upon
the help of the Humans. With the help of the Humans the Trolls were pushed out
of the Daglian Plains, but the Humans would forever stay out this for their King
was slain. The third and final war was started when the Goblins tried to break
the Trolls. The Goblins launched an all out offensive on Naemitian Mountains,
but the Trolls were ready and were easily destroying the Goblins. Until a lucky
shot caught their King right in their heart and as he fell and death appeared in
his eyes the Trolls bowed down to their new masters.
“After the days of the war the Trolls were forced to work of slavery. They
built the Goblins cities and protected their homelands often causing many deaths
in the Goblin Wars to be of the Troll race. The Trolls continued to work under
this slavery for one hundred years never once thinking about rebellion or
revolting. That was until the days of Ahalfar. He was a brute and was taller and
mightier than the rest of the Trolls. He also had one other thing going for him
he was a rather intelligent Troll and knew how to manipulate the others to his
bidding.”
“Ahalfar spent most of his younger life finding himself some followers that
would do whatever he said. He manipulated by giving them presents or gold when
in fact he didn’t even like them at all. He just wanted to end his enslavement
and whatever it took it would be done. After he had gather up enough followers
in 442 he decided that this would be a perfect time to form his group. The group
came to be known as the Rebels and Ahalfar asked his followers to come to
meetings outside of the town. He could easily sway the people and after a few
minutes of talking the fire raged in the eyes of his followers. They listened to
every word he said and by the end they all were convinced that this would be the
best for the Trolls. After that Ahalfar then progressed in to the actual
rebellion killing the men and raping the children of the Goblins. The Goblins
were starting to break and the Trolls were on the brink of winning their
independence, but low and behold Ahalfar caught a disease. After all the hard
work of the Trolls for four years Ahalfar died of that disease. His followers
were disheartened and were lost and without their leader they were lost. The
Goblins punished them greatly to show that any dealings of rebellion would lead
to severe punishment. The Goblins still had control.”
“Some rebellions occurred after the days of Ahalfar, but they were nothing
more than just a day of anger. The leaders neither had the cunning or the power
of the community that Ahalfar had. They were nothing more than just a few old
friends getting drunk and trying to cause trouble. The rebellions were quickly
extinguished by the Goblins for they have learned their lesson. The enslavement
of the Trolls continued and many feared that this would be their eternal gift to
life, to be enslaved and do the bidding of the Goblins.”
“Even though many view the Trolls as being amazingly stupid they are quite
sneaky when it comes to shady dealings. The scholars of Alura have just
discovered that the Trolls have spies that have escaped from the control of the
Goblins who are currently seeking out help in destroying the Goblins. The High
Elves have showed interest in this thought, but they do not believe they are
ready for a full fledged war. However, the Goblins have confiscated weapons that
they believe to be constructed by the High
Elves and that it seems to suggest that they have been supplying the Trolls with
weapons that they could use against the Goblins. The Goblins have sternly warned
the High Elven people that any more of this action could lead to a war.”
“Also it is thought that these Troll spies may have found some aid from the
Dwarven people and eyewitnesses have said they have seen the two together. At
the moment there is no proof for these accusations, however the Dwarves are not
completely denying it. This has the Goblins remarkably worried for they know
that the Dwarven army is well experienced and somewhat large in numbers. All the
Goblins can do is sit and wait and see if they can track down the Troll spies
before they are able to cause mayhem to their race.”
“What went unnoticed by history and scholars for many years is that many
Trolls formed a society which they called the Underground Society and they made
plans to escape during the beginning of the third war. As soon as Maardint was
struck by the arrow the motion was set into place and the Underground Society
escaped to the plains. After the death of Maardint, they seized the opportunity
and went to live in the wild and named themselves Wild Trolls.”
“The troll caravan of nearly 60 Trolls escaped to start a new civilization.
They vowed to one day return to the Goblin encampments and set their brethren
free. The Wild Trolls have heard of the brutal treatment of their brethren and
their numbers have finally reached a substantial number so that they can attack.
The Underground Society has been reformed, but for a different purpose because
they are now planning to end the bondage of the Trolls in Tarul. Their brothers
have been enslaved in Tarul for many decades as they watch the family line
continuing the same tasks that their forefathers did. The Wild Trolls have been
inching day by day closer to Tarul and now have entered the caverns with a vast
army of infantry of over 5,000. They are bent on one goal and that is to free
the brethren. The Goblins have tried diplomacy, but past occurrences tell you
how those go between Goblins and Trolls. The world of Alura is waiting as war
has not been declared yet and each side is waiting for the other to strike. Some
wonder if there will be war or whether each side is trying to get the other one
to succumb to their commands.”
